My true love...Tolkien.
I really need to get around to reading all the other works. I have read Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit so many times now. They are my secret lover during the crappy Scottish winters.
Anyone got anything to say about the other works of Tolkien?

Re: My true love...Tolkien.
Awesome! I'm a fan of Tolkien too, although The Lord of the Rings was kinda grueling for me to proceed through. I wholeheartedly recommend The Children of Hurin, though, as it is a bit of an easier read. The book strikes a chord with me since it weaves dark themes, such as severe depression, into the story of the main character. The plot is essentially about the lineage of Hurin, a renown hero of Middle Earth whose offspring's lives are touched by the ill will of Sauron's predecessor. The name of the antagonist doesn't come to mind, but anyway it's a great read (albeit gloomy).

Ooooh, I shall have to look into that one - when I find the time of course. Speaking of time, feel free to rattle your brain for ideas on how to expand this community - in the terms of what sub-forums, ideas for how to flesh out the RPG game and anything else that you think might work.
I might look into seeing if my local library has The Children of Hurin. I need a wee fantasy escape to get away from all this work stress and baby preparation. lol.
